Approved Electrician - Projects

FULL TIME – 40 hours per week

Job Summary
Due to the continued growth of our Measured Term Contract (MTC), we are looking for an experienced and skilled Approved Electrician to join our team, working primarily on minor electrical projects at Salisbury Hospital.
This role offers the opportunity to take on a leadership position, acting as the main point of contact for electrical works on-site and managing an electrical improver along with other electricians as required.

Key Responsibilities Include
(but not limited to):

• Carry out electrical installation, maintenance, and testing works in accordance with relevant regulations
and standards.
• Oversee and coordinate electrical projects, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and performance
standards.
• Supervise and mentor an electrical improver, providing guidance and support where needed.
• Ensure all work is completed efficiently, within agreed timeframes, and to a high standard.
• Maintain and update relevant certification, ensuring compliance with electrical safety regulations.
• Work closely with the Project Manger and Client to report progress, escalate any issues, and contribute to
contract requirements.
• Attend client and site meetings as necessary.
• Maintain a safe working environment for yourself, your team, hospital staff, and the public at all times.
• Work flexibly to accommodate business and client needs, including occasional out-of-hours work if
required.
• Collaborate with other engineers and site staff to ensure smooth project execution and site access.
• Manage materials, tools, and equipment effectively, including ordering supplies and auditing assets.

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications:

Typical Work Profile:
• Distribution Board (DB) replacements, Wiring upgrades, LV panel upgrades, Internal and external lighting

Essential
• Fully qualified Approved Electrician with relevant certifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, AM2, 18th Edition
Wiring Regulations, C&G 2391 Inspecting & Testing).
• Experience working on electrical projects in a commercial or healthcare environment.
• Strong understanding of electrical compliance, certification, and regulations.
• Ability to produce and review Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and recommend remedial
works.
• Experience in managing or supervising electrical teams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build and maintain client
relationships.
• A proactive, adaptable, and safety-conscious approach to work.
• A full UK driving licence.

Desirable
• Experience working within a hospital or healthcare environment.
• Knowledge of CDM regulations and ability to create site-specific Risk Assessments & Method Statements
(RAMS).
• Awareness of FM (Facilities Management) service delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Strong IT skills for processing quotes, certification, and documentation.
• Experience managing subcontractor performance.
